I liked this one. Gave me a quick chuckle!
The Tree
by Chirag Aswani
The tree
Was one-billion feet high.
His arms stretched with fear
Trying to
Kill me.
His roots stretched
And
Stretched up nine-billion feet
Trying to trip me.
He sleeps like a spy
Waiting for a kill.
Then
OUCH!
He got me.

My Dumb Cat Bruce Lansky
My cat never comes when I call her. She cannot remember her name. Her brain is the size of a thimble. And that’s why my cat is so lame. I tried to teach her to roll over, to shake, beg, and fetch wooden sticks. We practiced and practiced and practiced. My dumb cat could not learn the tricks. Then one day my cat was a hero. She captured a small, squeaky mouse. She hid the dead mouse in the sofa. My dumb cat stunk up the whole house. I wonder why cats were invented. They eat and they drink and they purr. There’s only one trick they know how to do: they sit on your lap and shed fur.

Sun by me! The sun beats down on quivering rabbit ears. It settles over top an emerald tree. Searching for, something A soft smile overtakes it’s face, But then fades, As a banging echo fills the silence. this is a personification I made in grade nine. haha, i suck at poetry!

The Albino Rhino Amelia
The other day I saw a rhino. He was very albino. As I knocked him in the head. He turned a defiant red. So I ran to get help at the phone. But all he had really wanted was an ice cream cone.

A Free verse poem by myself, from Grade nine. The Nickel
A shiny piece of nothing is dropped carelessly to the ground.
A child, of about seven, picks it up.
Her shiny and curly hair bounces at every movement she makes.
Her sapphire eyes examine the nickel.
She wipes the dirt off on her floral dress.
She looked just like the classic Goldy Locks.
Only, she wasn’t trying out chairs or beds or even porridge.
No, no. It as a nickel.
It inspired her.
Uplifted her spirits.
She skipped around, searching for the Candy Store.
This nickel would not be wasted.
At last,
The shop!
A warm smile spread like peanut butter across her face as she opened the door.
There was nobody else in the store.
She would have all the time in the world to pick out a candy or two!
Fuzzy Peaches
Cherry Blasters
Gummy Bears
Jelly Beans
Licorice
Gum
Which to choose.
There was all too many.
Maybe a way to just pick one.
Ah, YES! A game!
A game of . . .
Eeny Meeny Miny Moe!
The blonde headed girl poked out her index finger as she played the little game.
GUM!
Gum it was and gum it shall be!
She delicately picked up the piece and set it atop the counter.
‘That be a nickel there dear miss.’ Said the cashier with a toothy grin.
Goldy Locks gave him her founded nickel and plopped the sugary treat in her mouth.
She smiled, gleefully thinking,
And that is what you can do with a nickel. Amazing! Why would someone drop such a precious moment?
But did not linger on this question and continued on her way. Perhaps looking for another
‘precious moment’.
