Surfing. It had intrigued him since he had first heard about this sport. Why would anyone in their right mind want to stand on top of a length of fibreglass and try to stay upright as waves came crushing towards them?
But the more he read about it, the more he watched the people do it, the more determined he was to try it. His parents had never supported the sport, calling it a waste of time. Of course, being the child he was, Eli participated in the sport anyhow. Perhaps most of his determination had come from wanting to rebel against his parents, to get some sort of attention, but as the years went by, and still they seemed to care less and less abut what he did, he himself began to fall in love with the waves, the rhythms and the wonders of the ocean.
It had been an escape for the boy, a place where nothing else mattered but the beating of his own heart, the blood pumping throughout his body, and the balance and synch with the water. The crashing of the waves soon filled the teen’s ears. Taking a few steps forward, Eli stared out in awe and let out a slow breath, the wind tugging at his hair playfully.
The sun was just starting to show over the horizon. The bright flame red, and florescent orange clouds were mixing into the magnificent purples and blues of the sky. The blazing yellow sun set it off stunningly.
The breeze was warming up as the sun warmed the chill from the night’s darkness out of it. The soft wind swept against his skin, sending shivers down Eli’s half naked body. His hair sticking to his brow, his breath visible as he exhaled.
The sand was still slightly damp from the night air, but was warming up nicely. He took a moment to get his breathing back to normal. Eli grabbed the board and paid very close attention to the formation of the waves, and where they come in from. Locating the rips and undercurrents, working out where it was the safest to surf, Eli ran full speed into the water, diving under the first wave as it came crashing towards him. Coming up for air, the teen pushed his wet hair off his face and paddled out, working overtime fighting against the pull of the water inwards. Eli made it far enough out to start, but paused to look up into the cloudless day.
Too occupied with the blue sky and sun, Eli didn’t notice the wave coming for him until it was too late. Dunking him under the water, Eli fought against the strong undercurrent to come back up for air. When he finally managed to break the surface, he had to quickly dive under another wave to avoid being forced under again.
Coming up for air, Eli huffed in annoyance. He hadn’t expected the wave to have such a strong undercurrent. He would have to be more careful. He sat on his board, holding on lightly with his hands, his legs moving periodically when having to catch his balance. The waves moved him up and down in the water, bobbing to the rhythm. He looked out over the beach, eyes searching. He’d come to the beach not only to enjoy the waves, but also to meet up with someone. A girl. Though, whether or not she showed up was still to be determined. For all he knew, she had forgotten. Heck, he almost didn’t show up himself. Though he was glad he had. Once again his head turned towards the sky, watching as a seagull made it’s way awkwardly across the sky.

Aly sat on a swing eating away at a drumstick. She'd just recently come in from surfing. She had been a surfer ever since she could remember. It was a sport her parents had enjoyed doing. When she was five she never understood why they loved it so, but when they finally took her out on their boards she understood. The overwhelming sensation surfing brought was amazing! It was like riding a rollercoaster, but a whole lot more dangerous.
Her eyes gazed across the horizon, searching for a tall slender male. She was to meet him here. He said he surfed, but she hardly believed him. He probably wouldn't even show up. If he didn't it didn't matter so much. It was a beautiful day. Faer Lake didn't get too many of those. The weather was always overcast. Rain was the island's number one forecast.
Her emerald eyes watched as a male went swimming out with a surf board. He swam out quickly, but then...just sat there. What was he doing just sitting there, looking...at...the...sky? She frowned slightly, watching him closely, which was hard seeing as he was so far away. She took a bit from her drumstick, never taking her eyes off the male. There was a wave coming in. She watched as the soft wave began to form, rolling so elegantly until it began to curl. Did he even see it?
That answer came quick, for there went the wave, and there went the boy, washed away with it. She shook her head. How embarressing.
She stood up from the swing, taking her last bit from the drumstick. She stared out across the water once more. There he was again, just sitting there. What was he doing. Perhaps waiting. Perhaps it was Eli. Had he actually come? Her heart raced at the thought. She hadn't been surfing with someone else in a long time. She took hold of her board and slowly walked to the water. Her white, elbow length shirt was still sopping wet, and it left a small puddle where she stood.
'Well, I had better go out there. Don' want him thinking I wuz too scared to show up.' she thought, running down into the water until it was too deep for running, but this was where she could float on her board and paddle her way out.
Closing in on the subject at hand she almost smiled when she saw him, just sitting there, absentminded. He had actually came! Nobody had showed her this amount of kindess before. That is, except for Tyr. She sat up on her board and watched him for a moment. He didn't seem to realise she was there, unless maybe he was ignoring her. She sighed mentally, it wouldn't have been the first time someone ignored her.
Aly waved a hand infront of the male, "Oi, what're ya staring at? That kind of mind is gunna get you killed!" She laughed lightly, "Nice wipe-out earlier, by the way. But I didn't actually see you surfing! Why's that? Tis a beautiful day out! And yet..you just sit there...staring at the birds. Not very friendly birds though. Bloody seagulls. You know I once had one land right on my shoulder and the next thing I knew 'e was flying off with my fries! It was horrible. Anyways...back to surfin'. Let's see how good you are then, shall we? Or are you not up to it?" she smiled. For some reason she found it easy to talk with Eli. He was a fairly easy going, down to earth guy, though his temper was awful.
OoC:// not as good as my original reply. I tried to redo it the best i could. But it just doesn't have the same feel. sorry guys

There was a splashing in the background. His mind barely registered the sound, and decided that it really wasn’t important at this point. Oh no. They were much too busy keeping a look out for Aly. That took much too much concentration, and besides, the noise was probably a seagull. Or the dreaded monster that lived in the water he’d heard rumors about. Either way it didn’t really matter. His mind was solely set on finding the girl. If she showed up. ‘Well,’ his mind began trying to reason with eth stubborn boy who had barely moved in past few minutes, apart from the bobbing from the waves, ‘If she doesn’t show in another five minutes, it’s a lost cause my boy. So we shall give up. And get ourselves some chocolate. A nice big bar of chocolate. Hey, hey, hey! Keep your eyes open boy. You don’t want to go under again do you? Bloody useless you are…’
A drop of water landed one the boy’s nose, waking him from his thoughts. He blinked a few times before shaking his head and letting out a small sigh. Maybe he should just go, I mean, what exactly was he expecti-
Elijah was cut off there as a voice spoke. It nearly caused him to flip over on his board, but luckily he had enough reaction to steady himself and not make a complete fool of himself.
"Oi, what're ya staring at? That kind of mind is gunna get you killed!"
…Aly? Turning his drying head to the voice, his eyes set on those of the Australian girl. It was her! So maybe she didn’t hate him! Huzzah! And for some odd reason he felt…giddy. Bloody hell. He shook his head once more, sending small droplets of water to fly around his face.
"Nice wipe-out earlier, by the way. Or are you not up to it?"
He let out a snort of sorts, readjusting himself on his board to a more comfortable position. “Th’only reason why ah wasn’t surfin, love, was because ah was waitin fer ya ta bloody show up,” he said trying to sound as if he were upset, but sadly the grin on his face just didn’t do him justice. “And ta tell ya the truth, Ah didn’t think ya’d show up at all. Ah mean, it musta been very worryin fer ya. Havin to come down to the beach and know that ye’ll be beaten by a surfin skill much greater than that of yer own,” he said jokingly.
With that said he lay down on the floating device and began to paddle further out into the water. And now the fun actually began. ‘See,’ he started, ‘I told ya she’d show up,’ he thought triumphantly.

Eli let out a snort of sorts, readjusting himself on his board to a more comfortable position. “Th’only reason why ah wasn’t surfin, love, was because ah was waitin fer ya ta bloody show up,” he said all this with an unaccomplished attempt at being angry, but a small grin peeked at the corners of his lips. She was just about to say something in regards to her waiting on the beach for the last half an hour, eating icecream but he was already continuing on, “And ta tell ya the truth, Ah didn’t think ya’d show up at all. Ah mean, it musta been very worryin fer ya. Havin to come down to the beach and know that ye’ll be beaten by a surfin skill much greater than that of yer own,” he said. Aly frowned at this. What was he talking about? He’d never seen her surf in his life! What did he know? PAH!
“I’ll ‘ave ya know Mr. Burnham that I’ve been sitting on the beach for the last half an hour,” she smiled pleasantly, “Enjoyin’ a lovely ice cream cone, might I add. You should try some of the ice cream they’ve got up there! It’s absolutely delicious!” She said rubbing her belly.
She looked over at Eli to see that he had already begun to paddle out. Aly, too, lay on her board and paddled out next to him, “What are ya anxious to ‘show me up’ and then leave? Geez, you’re something different, I’m telling ya.” The last sentence was muttered lightly to herself as she shook her head.
“So ya didn’t think I would come did ya?” she shook her head, “I would never go down on my word! Honest! Unless some tragic event happened that made me forget everything in the world or stall me from doing something I said I would do…I would never let anyone down!” she said this all very seriously, “But really, I was really surprised to see y’self here. I didn’t actually believe ya were ah surfer!” she let out a small laugh.
Her eyes flicked ahead. She could see just a very short ways off there was a wave rolling in. A mighty big one too! She grinned, giddy with excitement, “To tell ya the truth, I haven’t been surfin’ since me parents passed away.” She said. It was a rather sad statement, but she tried not to worry about her past too much. What happened had happened. No need to dwell. Some things happen for a certain reason.
She gave herself a few extra paddles before turning to Eli, “Well, you getting on this one?” she yelled out to him, He was a few good feet away now. What was he doing now? Staring at the birds again?
She stood up on her board as the massive wave came rolling towards her. She couldn’t see Eli any more and wondered if maybe he’d swam up and gotten in the tunnel as well. She daren’t look behind her though, screwing up would not be good right now. Not when she hadn’t done this for two or three years. Bloody ‘ell, that was an awful long time. Why hadn’t she come out more often? It’s not like you need an exceptionally sunny day to do it.
But that was right. She’d never surfed by herself before. What a nerve-wracking thought, to surf by yourself.

So, she had been waiting for him, as he had been waiting for her? It seemed like they each missed the other by only a few seconds. Guess they both had been looking in that wrong place at the wrong time. Still, he found the corner of his mouth wanting to twitch into a smile. It was a great feeling to actually have someone, anyone, waiting and keeping an eye out for him.
Looking over his shoulder, he saw Aly looking at him as he slowly paddled out, her own form following suit.
“What are ya anxious to ‘show me up’ and then leave?”
“Love, Ah was born ta show ya up,” he said jokingly. “A’m jest ready to feel the water under me board. Haven’t had a good outing in weeks, really.” Going out into the water, facing wave after wave, the spray of water misting over your body, getting into your hair, your eyes, it was a wonderful experience, but going alone really wasn’t the best choice. It was lonely, and often too quiet. Sure you had the crashing waves and seagulls, but there was no laughter. Going into the water, knowing that if you got too far, got pulled under at the wrong time, you may never return, it just made things so much less serious when there was another body falling into the cool water, swallowing and filling their lungs with the same water that had tried to knock you down.
“How could ya not think ah surfed?” He asked over dramatically incredulous. “Ah mean, come on now, it isn’t that odd to find a Brit surfing.” There was a pause there before Eli let out his own barking laugh, steadying himself on his board as he did. “Ok, so that’s a load of rubbish. But ah’ll show ye pretty little eyes the truth,” he said with a grin. And then he felt it. The slight teetering of the board. The seconds t took for his body to bob up and down. Looking forward again, he saw the bump rising in the water and falling back in again.
“To tell ya the truth, I haven’t been surfin’ since me parents passed away.” She said.
Eli faltered in his slow paddling, eyes glancing towards Aly. He watched her warily for a few seconds, not really sure what to make of that statement. Why was he so bloody awful with understanding the emotions of others? Maybe it was just that though. A statement. A sad statement. But a statement all the same.
“Well then,” he started, “Ah guess that means a’m really gonna show ya up, eh?” God damn it Eli! What the bloody hell was that? Is that supposed to make her feel better? No! It’s going to make her feel lousy. Way to go. She talks about her parents’ death and you joke about it. Brilliant. Well, it’s already been said. Ah crap. And o think, the words running through his mind that he actually wanted to utter had been over come with those lame ones. He truly was an idiot. Hey, then again, maybe she hadn’t even heard him over the crashing water…
Speaking of which, there came the wave.
“Well, you getting on this one?” she yelled out to him.
“Ya bloody well can count on it,” he yelled back, putting in a few more strokes. It was getting closer now. His back legs fell into a crouching position on his board, hands keeping him balanced as the water tried to send him crashing down.
The smell of the ocean spray was overwhelming and it brought a smile to the boy’s lips. In a second he had himself turned in the right direction and was standing, the wave lolling behind him. His stance soon changed, feet turning and planting themselves securely, back bent over slightly, and his arms out to the sides, keeping him standing. He could no longer see Aly, but he knew she was there. Somewhere. All he could hear and see at the moment was water. It was an amazing feeling, all adrenaline shooting through him. Yes, it would be a fine day. Especially if it continued like this. But of course, like all good things, it came to an end much too quickly. Eli found himself still standing on his board, quickly making a beeline for the exit of that tunnel, water flying from his board as he slowed to a stop of sorts. He lowered himself once more onto the board, legs on either side of the thing, shaking out his once again wet hair. Now where had that red head gone to?

“Love, Ah was born ta show ya up,” Eli said jokingly, but she let out a small scoff, “A’m jest ready to feel the water under me board. Haven’t had a good outing in weeks, really.”
She smiled, of course he would be ready to feel the water under his board. There was no greater feeling that she had ever experienced herself.
“How could ya not think ah surfed?” He asked over dramatically incredulous. “Ah mean, come on now, it isn’t that odd to find a Brit surfing.” There was a pause there before Eli let out his own barking laugh, which made him have to steady himself on his board. Aly just shook her head, laughing quietly, “Ok, so that’s a load of rubbish. But ah’ll show ye pretty little eyes the truth,” he said with a grin.
“Well then,” he started, after her words of not being surfing since her parents died, “Ah guess that means a’m really gonna show ya up, eh?” Her face went red as she watched his uncomfort. She'd forgotten the last time she'd brought up her parents. It was on the bus and he seemed awkward about it and ended up muttering something stupid. It was probably best she didn't bring it up around people. It tended to make them feel uncomfortable.
She never thought twice about it though. She barely remembered them. It wasn't long ago she lost them but the night it had happened she'd clunked her head fairly hard, in the end forgetting most of her childhood. Here and there if someone where to say something it might trigor a memory to come forth but for the most part her Auntie Sally was the closest family she had.
However...
Aly's legs were bent and her arms out to her side as she ballanced on the board as the rolling wave kept her moving. A mist of water sprayed her and she smiled. The breeze blowing through her hair and the light glistening in the water was all so beautiful. Really, why hadn't she come surfing in so long?
The end of the tunnel soon came and her board slowed. She wabbled for a moment before lowering herself on the board and began to sing quietly one of her favourite disney movie songs.
"There’s no place I’d rather be. Then on my surfboard out at sea. Lingering in the ocean blue. And If I had one wish come true. I’d surf till the sun sets. Beyond the horizon. A wiki wiki mai lohi lohi. Lawe mai i ko papa he'e nalu Flyin by on the Hawaiian roller coaster ride!!"
She looked around to see if Eli was anywhere in sight.
It wouldn't be a Hawaiian roller coaster ride though...Faer lake roller coaster ride, perhaps? I would what that would sound like?
"Flyin' by on the Faer Lake roller coaster ride!!" she yelled this quiet loudly then laughed, "No...noo....i's jus' not the same."

"There’s no place I’d rather be.
Then on my surfboard out at sea…”
That voice…it sounded an awful lot like Aly’s…
“…Lingering in the ocean blue.
And If I had one wish come true.
I’d surf till the sun sets…”
Eli’s head turned to the voice, growing in temp and energy. There sat the little red head belting out the words, thoroughly enjoying herself; Seemed like she got out of the tunnel well enough.
“Beyond the horizon. A wiki wiki mai lohi lohi.
Lawe mai i ko papa he'e nalu Flyin by on the Hawaiian roller coaster ride!!"
The song brought a smile to Eli’s lips as he remembered the first time he’d heard the song. It was during a movie he’d seen at some girl’s birthday party back in London. He’d fallen in love with the movie, more specifically Lilo. Of course, he’d kept that ll to himself, especially since the other boys at the movie party thought it was dumb. Either way, it didn’t stop him from pestering his parents to buy the movie from him. of course, they hadn’t bought it, but still, he’d received it for his ninth birthday from his granny. He remembered watching the stupid thing over and over until his eyes were beat red.
He could hear a mumbling coming from Aly, something he was rather used to hearing by now. She thought aloud often, usually not even noticing when she did so. It was cute though, watching gher furrow her brows as she debated something over with herself.
Without much thought, Eli began humming the tune to the very same song Aly had been singing as he paddled over to where she was. He soon found himself actually singing where she’d left off.
“…There's no place I'd rather be, Than on the seashore dry, wet free, On golden sand is where I'd lay, And if I only had my way, I'd play 'til the sun sets beyond the horizon...
Lalala i ka la hanahana, Me ke kai hoene i ka pu`e one.
It's time to try the Hawaiian roller coaster ride!”
He began laughing then, realizing how out of character he was acting. He felt like his nine year old self again. Happy, carefree, and enjoying the little wonders of the world.
“Ya know, ah always loved the Hawaiian parts of that song th’ best,’ he said sidling up next to Aly. “Ah remember looking up the words and practicing them day after day just to get ‘em right,” he said sheepishly. He’d even gone so far as to learn what the English translation meant. As was expected, the words were as beautiful as the ones in English were. His parents weren’t too happy with the song however. They found it annoying, childish, and utter rubbish. Of course, Eli didn’t give a damn what his parents thought, and continued on with his surfing songs and sport. Much like he did now. He felt happier than he had in years, and really, it was all thanks to this girl. Then again, it was all thanks to this very same girl that he’d been a raging bull days before. He really shouldn’t have over reacted like that though. He’d acted rashly and foolishly, not that was new. His temper often got the best of him. Not to mention on that day it had been his temper mixed with a bucket full of jealousy.
Looking at Aly now, laughing and smiling, made him feel horrible. He’d acted terrible that day. Sure he hated Tyr, but that had been no reason to lash out on Aly. Not really. And he still hadn’t apologized; which was quite cowardly of him. Eli had bee kicking himself these past couple days for not being able to bring himself to say ‘Sorry for being a stupid arse.’
Today he would. She had shown up to go surfing even though he’d avoided her like the plague after his little temper tantrum.
“Aly, listen,” he began looking at the water sloshing around them, “Sorry for bein’ a jerk the other day. I was bein’ stupid and ah didn’ mean ta make you feel lousy,” he said apologetically. “Ah’m just glad you showed up today. Ah thought ye’d be bleeding mad at me.”

The sound of hands paddling through water and waves curling in the background came before she could hear the sound of someone singing. The song picked up where she had ended her own singing.
“…There's no place I'd rather be, Than on the seashore dry, wet free, On golden sand is where I'd lay, And if I only had my way, I'd play 'til the sun sets beyond the horizon..." Eli said he was a bad singer, but he really wasn't all that bad. She smiled and decided to join him in singing.
"Lalala i ka la hanahana, Me ke kai hoene i ka pu`e one.
It's time to try the Hawaiian roller coaster ride!” The two of them chanted along together. She started laughing so hard she had to grab her stomach. "Euuh, laughing cramps." she moaned.
“Ya know, ah always loved the Hawaiian parts of that song th’ best,’ he said sidling up next to Aly. “Ah remember looking up the words and practicing them day after day just to get ‘em right,” he said sheepishly. Aly's jaw dropped in a large smile, "No way! It's my favourite too! I always walked around singing that song...even though people gave me weird looks. I even looked up the meaning and everything! It's so beautiful!"
“Aly, listen,” he began, she looked at him intently. Oh dear...he'd suddenly gotten serious, “Sorry for bein’ a jerk the other day. I was bein’ stupid and ah didn’ mean ta make you feel lousy,” he said apologetically. “Ah’m just glad you showed up today. Ah thought ye’d be bleeding mad at me.”
She half smiled, remembering the way he had acted only three days previous. She hadn't gone to school the next day and the days after that he had ignored her completely. But everyone had there angry moments. She just figured it would pass. Even if it didn't...well...she would've been sad if he'd kept ignoring her. "Don't worry abou' it," she said shrugging her shoulders, "Ah forgive easily. Everyone gets mad...although..Ah wasn't really sure why you were mad..." her voice trailed off as she gazed out at the horizon.

The silence that followed Eli’s statement was nearly impossible to bear. What was going through Aly’s mind? Was she mulling over how to politely say ‘I wish you would just drop in a pot of boiling wax’? Try as he might, Eli wasn’t able to bring himself to look at Aly. Instead he kept his eyes focused on his board; the foamy cheap piece of plastic that was holding him up. There were dents a few small chunks missing in a few pieces, but all in all that cheap piece of plastic had been with him for quite a few years. His first board; Bought with his own heard earned cash. He’d been quite proud of the stupid thing, and heck, he still was. Of course, over the years he’d gone and found himself a board that wasn’t so…crappy that he used for competitions and such. Though, he did occasionally use the old thing. It was perfectly good, and in all truth he was surprised it had lasted so long.
"Don't worry abou' it," she began, "Ah forgive easily. Everyone gets mad,”
At this, Eli raised his eyes, a smile plastered on his face. So she didn’t want him whacked. That was a relief.
“...although…”
Although? Although!? Oh god, there was more. It was coming.
“Ah wasn't really sure why you were mad..."
…
…huh, he wasn’t dead yet. She really wasn’t upset. If anything she just looked confused; sincerely and completely perplexed. How could she be so confused? It was clear why he’d stomped off; Acting like a jealous lover, which he wasn’t. No he was far worse than that. He was a jealous crush. Maybe even stalker. NO he did not memorize her bus route or work schedule...every other week. Still, she’d taken Tyr’s hand like it was a natural thing to do with someone of the opposite sex that clearly had a major crush on her.
“Ah, don’ worry your ‘ead over it,” he said with a stupid laugh. “Ah just wasn’t feeling the best and me head was killin’ me. It was just a bit of a…shock to see you and that...” assface, “guy hold hands is all. But don’t worry; I plan on keeping my temper down; maybe; for a day; hopefully,” he said with a grin.
“Well, are we just gonna sit here after one ride?” He asked looking over his shoulder at the ever moving water. “Come on now love, plenty of waves today. Last one on is the rotten egg. And we both know who that won’t be,” he said with a grin. Before heading out to sea, Eli turned to Aly, looking at her for a brief second before splashing her completely and quickly paddling away before he himself was attacked.

But don’t worry; I plan on keeping my temper down; maybe; for a day; hopefully,” he said with a grin. She smiled a bit, nodding. Maybe it was just an episode that was not to be talked about. Fogiven, forgotten and all that falderall. Her holding of Tyr's hand had been completely out of the blue though. He hadn't seemed to be paying attention, and she didn't want to leave him behind..so she grabbed his hand. His..warm smooth hand. Hers were always so cold. She'd liked the feel of his hand. It was comforting. And her thoughts were distracted by talking to Eli that she hadn't even noticed she was still holding it.
“Well, are we just gonna sit here after one ride?” Eli asked looking over his shoulder at the ever moving water. Her eyes followed his and she was caught staring out at the waves curling around. “Come on now love, plenty of waves today. Last one on is the rotten egg. And we both know who that won’t be,” she heard him say. Her gaze was awoke by a sudden splash of water. Her jaw dropped and goosebumps formed around her arms. It was so...cold.
"What was tha' for?" she asked, a smile curling at her lips as she kicked water at him.
She lay down on her board and began paddling out further now.

"What was tha' for?"
Eli felt the splash of water as it hit his back, pouring over to the other side of his head. He wiped the water from his, turning back to look at a smirking Aly. Good. Things were ok. She was smiling and they were having fun.
“Just thought ye needed ta be more drenched than ye already were,” he said grinning.
He continued to paddle, heading towards another rolling wave, adrenaline rushing through his veins once more. They would continue this, over and over. The thrill of being encased by water, knowing that at any minute, the current could change and the sea would take you for its prey. Yet, it was thrilling. It was fun. And most importantly, it calmed Eli greatly; no worries of anything stupid coming from his mouth today; maybe.
He readied himself on the board for eth approaching wave, looking back at the red head that was only a couple paddles behind him.
“Looks like ye’re the rotten egg,” he called laughing as he did so.

“Just thought ye needed ta be more drenched than ye already were,” Eli said grinning. She gave a half nod and frowned. She was already pretty wet, why would she have to be more wet? Just picking fun most likely...
So it ended with her being the rotten egg. That was alright. There was nothing wrong with being a rotten egg. They smelt bad and...probably tasted bad, but that was besides the point. At least she was out here enjoying the beautiful day. The warm sun on was her back and cool water all over. There was no better thing than surfing when you’re feeling down, not that she was feeling down.
They’d probably been surfing for at least an hour now. Her arms rested on the floating board as she looked over at Eli, kicking her feet under the water to stay up. She really enjoyed his company, although she’d rather be with Tyr now. He was such a sweetheart. He was the only guy who’d ever been really nice to her. But Eli had been her first friend. It was kind of weird how they became friends though, meeting at work. He’d never took notice to her until she fell in the mayonnaise. That had been so embarrassing! Then again the way she’d met Tyr was even more odd—she was a pretty odd person herself though. It all made enough sense.
She was getting tired now, her legs were sore from swimming so much. They felt numb and her throat had the feeling of swallowing sandpaper. But that’s what you get for, accidentally, inhaling to much water.
“Ah think I’m gunna go back to shore now,” she said, “Ah think I’ll get an ice-cream, how ‘bout you?”
