The sun was shining so brightly today. The rays of light hitting her face, warming them a great deal. It would be an amazing day to go surfing. Surely the waves would be great. They always were. The only days that were bad for surfing were the days that it was raining. Unfortunately, living in Faer Lake it rained about forty-five percent of the time, so that only left her with 55 percent. Maybe if she turned around now, to catch the bus she could make it all the way up to her house and back before the weather decided it wasn’t going to be nice anymore.
She turned down a narrow alleyway, stopping for a minute, after she’d taken a few strides in. Had a cloud gone over the sun or something? Was it going to rain so soon? Her head gazed upwards, but the sky was as blue as it could be and the sun shone brighter than ever. Hmm, that’s weird. she thought, continuing down the alley. She pulled out a long cord, attached to an ipod and placed each end of the earphones into her ear. She pressed the play button and began to sing with the song.
“Let's start the show Because you never know You never know You never know until you go
Alright! Alright! Who gives the orders here! Alright! Who giv-uuuhoooft”
Her singing had all been nothing below perfect, that is, until she was shoved against the wall by a shadowed object. It was completely unexpected in her mind. So sudden. Her eyes drifted around lazily searching for the reason behind this odd scene.
A lump of black that smelt of alcohol and tobacco was embracing her rather harshly. It was mumbling the strangest things that she could hardly make out. And then she looked downwards as she heard the sound of metal, and a loosening of her jeans. Is the black, alcohol and tobacco smelling object undoing her belt? What’s going on? Oh no. He’s not….
She squirmed in the uncomfortable position she has been forced into, kicking her feet as much as she could and beating her fist on the mans shoulder. He wouldn’t budge. “I give the orders here.” He muttered. A few whimpers came from her mouth as she looked around helplessly as he fidgeted with her awkward belt. There was another man, not far off. But he was clearly with the guy trying to rape her, for he was laughing while chugging back a bottle of alcohol.
“Get off of me!” she screamed in the mans ear, kicking her knee up into his gut. This made him wince in pain, loosening his grip on her. It gave her a second or so to get away. But of course, dear Aly, being the graceful girl she was, tumbled to the ground.

He had only been sitting alone in the alley feeding the rats when he heard it. The angels calling him- taking him away from this hell he'd been living. It sounded like his Mothers voice.
Mom? “Let's start the show Because you never know You never know You never know until you go" Standing up from his crouching position, he looked around him. His eyes had adjusted to the shadows and he smiled- he would be rendered invisible.
His heart told him to stalk onward- to follow his Mothers voice and welcome her with a missed embrace.
"Alright! Alright! Who gives the orders here! Alright!"
Tyr's heart sank when he gazed over to the culprit who cursed his mind with useless images of his Mother.
Pathetic How could he do that to himself? How could he believe in such folly?
Turning to go, a shadow caught his attention. He watched in horror as two men clutched her tightly. He watched her struggle, beating the mans shoulder.
--- He watched her die that night- his Mother. She seemed the only one who understood him and who forced him to strive onward. The flames around the car grew higher as he watched Lucifer grasp the vehicle. She tried to break the glass- but demons surrounded her, weighing her arms down. Drowning into the depths of hell.
---
My Mother was a Saint!
With his eyes glistening from the ghosts of his past- he forced all memories to the back of his mind. He watched him lean in closer to her- and mumble somthing. Or so he thought from his mouth moving.
“Get off of me!” she screamed in the mans ear, kicking her knee up into his gut. This made him wince in pain, loosening his grip on her. It gave her a second or so to get away. But of course, Tyr watched her tumble to the ground.
Picking up a small pebble which lay untouched beside him. He tossed it to himself once, catching it in the same hand he tossed it with before throwing it.
He gave a forceful back swing behind the throw and smiled as it hit the guy who stood over top the girl. "Oi!" he yelped, turning around.
Stepping out of the shadows, the bottom of his face shone brightly through the rest of the darkness that surrounded him. A ghostly and dark aura surrounded him.
"'Eh I thot you says this wuss emfty." Tyr cocked his head to the right to see the drunken bastard awaiting his chance for action.
"It is." Was the reply as he turned around- their attention focused on the mystery man who masked his eyes with long locks of hair.
His head turned quickly back toward the other male. Raising his voice, he spoke into the silence of the air. His voice was filled with innocence as he spoke lightly.
"Empty is the sky before the sun wakes up. Empty is the eyes of animals in cages. Empty are the faces of women in mourning when everything has been taken from them."
He let a serpents smirk cross his face before he continued.
"Me? Don't ask me about empty."
The light touched his arms as he raised them and when he did so- a never-ending flock of crows erupted from the shadows he melded with.
He laughed like he was the devil himself at their frightened faces and waited for them to be gone- fully out of site before he stepped out of the safety he was in. He laughed silently as their screams echoed in the lost city in front of them.
Stepping lightly over to the fallen angel, his eyes were masked with concern for her well being.
"Are you okay?"

A small rock came flying towards the guy standing over her, hitting him, then falling to the ground next to her. "Oi!" he yelped, turning around.
Stepping out of the shadows, a figure appeared, the bottom of his face shone brightly through the rest of the darkness that surrounded him. A ghostly and dark aura surrounded him.
"'Eh I thot you says this wuss emfty." Aly closed her eyes briefly. It always seemed that misfortune not only followed her, but road upon her shoulder. Just like they were best buds. Maybe she’d be better to just stay home, all the time. Then she wouldn’t have a bunch of bloody stalkers and rapists following her around everywhere.
"It is." She was so confused. What was empty? The alley? Or were they talking about the alcohol bottles?
His head turned quickly back toward the other male. Raising his voice, he spoke into the silence of the air. His voice was filled with innocence as he spoke lightly. ”Empty is the sky before the sun wakes up. Empty is the eyes of animals in cages. Empty are the faces of women in mourning when everything has been taken from them."
He let a serpents smirk cross his face before he continued. "Me? Don't ask me about empty."
Just as he spoke these words an entire flock of crows came from..from..somewhere. The darkness of the alley? They flew after the men, chasing them away and out of the now silent alley.
The figure that had been mostly shadowed in the depths of the narrow walkway now took steps towards her. "Are you okay?" he inquired, concern swimming in his words.
Aly slide back on the ground to separate herself more from the male, for she felt too drained to stand. She could feel her hands shaking lightly and her eyes were wide with shock. “I…” she muttered, he’d asked if she was okay. Did this mean he was a friend and not a foe? Was he to be trusted?
“Crows?” her voice squeaked, as her mind wandered through everything that had happened.
She leaned her back up against the wall, bringing her legs in tight to her chest. Tears began to flow heavily from her eyes, “I’m….alright.” she spluttered, her Australian accent now apparent, “Thank you.” She looked up at the boy, both with fear and gratitude.

Tyr said nothing in return. He worried she was scared of him- of course it wouldn't had been the first time. His eyes softened at her Australian accent. Clearly- she wasn't his Mother.
Maybe it was only when she sang.
But Tyr soon found himself in a rut. He wanted to speak, he wanted to comfort her but he knew not the social skills to speak what he wanted to.
So, he simply stepped back to the other side of the alley and leaned his back against the wall across from her.
He watched her carefully letting the silence between them grow. He wanted her to calm down, to stop crying because there was nothing to fear. He longed and ached to give her a hug, to touch the girl and to beg her to sing once more. For his memories sake!
He heard the harsh rapid flutter of wings and smiled contently as Krow returned and perched on his shoulder. The talons gripped tightly to his shoulder- crinkling the clothing underneath.
It screeched and called into the night air- a warning to the girl. Tyr was here to protect her.
"Caaw" [/sub]

Slowly her heart beat slowed and the tears quit streaming from her eyes. Though now they burned a great deal. She wiped away the wetness from her face and eyes, looking back towards the boy who was now sitting directly across from her.
He hadn't spoken much. He only sat there, watching her. If it weren't her he was watching then it was something quite close to her.
Shifting her head she looked at the wall she leaned against. There was nothing to really look at, besides the ant making it's way down the wall. A hand reached up on the wall and let the ant crawl down onto it. She smiled inwardly as it's little legs scampered along her palm.
Finally she set her hand on the ground, allowing it to go. But go it would not. Frowning slightly she lift her hand upside down. The ant didn't dare fall off, it just crawled around to the top of her hand and sat there. "What are you doing?" she whispered to the ant. She set her hand back on the ground, "Go on." her voice was barely audible, and the ant, almost reluctantly, trailed off her hand, disappearing in a small anthill nearby.
Her eyes drifted back towards the male across from her. Now a crow was perched on his shoulder. How odd that was. Would she ever have a normal day here in Faer Lake?
She looked at the boy questioningly, "Is that your pet?"

He watched her and felt a calming wave wash over him. The words she spoke to the creature he couldn't hear, but he knew they were kind.
His attention was brought to her question, "Is that your pet?"
Pet? His Krow a pet? Never!
Pets were slaves to their masters, his Krow was free to leave as it pleased.
"No."
He turned his head and looked at the black beauty that sat beside him. "He is a friend." "Caw" [/sub]

"No," he replied, as he turned his head and looked at the black beauty that sat beside him, "He is a friend." She smiled slightly. Friends were good to have. They kept you company and were there for you in times of need.
"What are you doing done here anyway? You weren't stalking me, were you?" of course she was joking, but on the inside she was questioning that fact a great deal. Especially since he was just sitting there watching her. Who does that?
Then again, wasn't she sitting there watching him?
Resting her chin on her knees she continued to watch him, waiting a response. She wished she could see his eyes. How did he even manage to see with that much hair covering them. It looked brutally awkward to her.

Her next set of vowels caught him off guard completely. What are you doing done here anyway? You weren't stalking me, were you?"
A small grunt escaped his lips and he turned his head, ashamed to be answering such a question. He felt small to her- small to his angel- to his Mother.
"No. I was feeding the rodents when I heard you singing. My mind was fooled and I found you." He was choking on tears as he spoke. Holding back those nightmares of his Parents. Standing with little effort because of the crow on his shoulder. "I'm sorry Mom." He whispered the last bit as a small tear fell from his cheek to the dirt below. [/sub]

A small grunt escaped his lips and he turned his head.
"No. I was feeding the rodents when I heard you singing. My mind was fooled and I found you."He was choking on something as he spoke. Was it tears? "Oh," she said, ducking her head in an attempt to hide her embarrassment. This guy had heard her singing as well. She should really just stop singing in public. It was turning out to not be good for her health.
She looked back up towards him, watching as a tear fell from his cheek to the dirt below. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that-I...." her eyes looked down for a moment as she thought, "I've just been having...weird run-ins with people lately. I'm sorry." she got up and stood there awkwardly. For she wasn't certain why he was crying, and she felt a need to comfort him. But didn't want to be some creep, hugging random beings on the street. What was this about being fooled?
"I..should go," she muttered, grabbing her ipod and wrapping the cord tightly around it. She adjusted her belt, mentally laughing, the dipstick had hardly gotten it undone. "um...thanks again. And I'm awfully sorry." she nearly whispered before walking back down the way she had come.
Today was, perhaps, not the best day to go surfing.

Tyr watched her, grieving the loss of his social skills. He mourned over his sanity. So he stood still- more casually than she because he was familiar with such acts.
Ah, alas his heart ached to touch her. To have her hold him much like his Mother did. He wanted her to love him. Or was his mind just confused because this was the only girl that had noticed him in a while.
But he couldn't had just left her there! Alone and feeble to rapists! Was he her angel? No! She was his! She was his Mother. NO-
"I..should go," she muttered, interrupting his thoughts. "um...thanks again. And I'm awfully sorry." "No!...Please- I pray you, sing once more!" [/sub]

Her feet did not continue to walk and she stood with her back to the boy, even more awkward than before. Why had she stopped though? It was because the boy had cried out something to her. Something people never asked. "No!...Please- I pray you, sing once more!"
She smiled, though she could feel her cheeks burning. Why was this guy even talking to her? Why had he helped her out? Why was their so little light in the alley? All of these questions swarmed through her head as she pondered what the male had said to her. His voice was so very innocent and almost pure. How did someone who looked hardly innocent at all end up with such a beautiful, prince-like voice?
"I. I can't." she told him before continuing to walk out of the alley.

His eyes widened with hope as he watched his Mother stop before him. Slowly, a smile crawled across his face and his heart beat with joy.
Could this really be happening? That the angel before him would return to him? He longed to hold her tight to his body, to touch her seemingly soft skin. After all, he had saved her!
But the hidden eyes never left her body.
Could it be love?
"I- I can't." she told him before continuing to walk out of the alley.
His heart sank and he fell to his knees behind her. They were weakened with rage and depression. His Angel! His Mother! Betrayed without another blink of her eye.
Tyr could do nothing but watch her body inch farther from his view. He fought the inner battle of leaping and embracing her, shaking her body and screaming in her face, "Sing! Sing for me!"
His friends- his creatures began to gather once more around him. Their feathers brushed against his skin as they too wanted attention.
He was weakened with fear and agony, but begged again. "Prithee*, for my sake!" Note: Prithee- I pray thee.[/sub]

The sound of something hitting the ground approached her ears. She looked back curiously, worry in her eyes. For the boy was on his knees and his bodily expression was like that of one who had been stabbed. Or had their heart cut out of them. The crows came nearer to him, brushing their soft, midnight feathers against his weak body.
"Prithee, for my sake!" he begged.
Inching towards him she smiled inwardly. It was more a confused smile though. She didn't quite understand why this boy was begging her to sing. It wasn't like she was any good at singing. Or was she? Whenever people heard her sing it gave her lots of unwanted attention. Embarassment. That's all her singing was. It was always the downfall of her tragic life story.
Standing a meter away from him she sat. Her legs crossed over one another as her elbows rested on each knee and her knuckles rested below her jaw while her dark green eyes watched the boy and his feathered friends.
She wished to hug him. He looked so terribly sad. But why was he sad? Because she wouldn't sing? What a silly thing to be sad over.
He had practically saved her life though. She could sing for him, if that was what he wanted.
She removed her knuckled from underneath her jaw and set them on the ground, on either side of her, "I'm not a very good singer," she said with a barily audible voice, "Infront of someone other than myself, that is. S'pose I could give it a burl." she told him with a small nod.
"Do you have a preference in song? I don't really know what to sing." she said with a frown. Aly stretched her legs out infront of her. Luckily she had short legs and they didn't manage to hit the poor bloke infront of her.

She inched towards him and smiled inwardly. It seemed more confused than an actual smile. Tyr could do nothing but watch her in hope and faith. His eyes fell into a deep lock onto hers- he couldn't escape her beauty. He loved his Mother- His Angel- The God of purity!
Standing a meter away from him she sat. Her legs crossed over one another as her elbows rested on each knee and her knuckles rested below her jaw while her dark green eyes watched him and his friends.
He longed to hold her and be held. She looked to beautiful there in the moonlight. His thoughts raced- how soft her hair looked. How welcoming (Yet a little frightened and apathetic) her eyes were.
She removed her knuckles from underneath her jaw and set them on the ground, on either side of her, "I'm not a very good singer," she said with a barely audible voice, "Infront of someone other than myself, that is. S'pose I could give it a burl." she told him with a small nod.
He raised his head- the feeling of misery lifted inside. He almost wanted to smile!
"Do you have a preference in song? I don't really know what to sing." she said with a frown. Aly stretched her legs out infront of her.
He watched her, and scanned up her legs to her body. They were pretty short. It took him great effort to not reach out and rest a hand upon them. Just to touch her! Oh the agony! It felt like a stab to the heart while scorpions stung his brain and poisoned his thoughts with happiness and freedom.
"No." Was this Lust? Or Love? [/sub]

His head slowly angled upwards and he spoke. Just one short simple word. And it was like a small pang to the heart. It was like being rejected by the thing most desired. Just as one could tell a fish it couldn’t live in water, or throwing a lion in the arctic.
Her mind raced for an appropriate answer. But how could anyone respond to such a negative response? He wished for her to sing, but he didn’t tell her what to sing. Or did he care not what she sung. Perhaps he just wanted to hear her voice. But that was ridiculous.
Shifting her body to the wall she leaned her back against it, hugging her legs to her chest. “oh…” she breathed. She rest her chin on her knees as she raced through her mind for a song. But what…
Her lids closed, hiding her green eyes behind them as she took in a small breath to begin. She didn’t understand why she was putting herself in this position. She despised singing in front of people. But she owed him just one song, if that was all that he desired.
“The fields are near and I wont trust the air with secrets I can't stop holding this treasure in my arms For all the water in the ocean could never turn The swan's legs from black to white
Let them say. let them say. let them say what they please
You wont be leaving my arms ever. I promise you that. Even if you want me to let go honey Even if you want me to let go You wont be leaving my arms ever. I promise you that. Even if you want me to let go honey Even if you say the things that make me want to lose you
We went on drinking, celebrating something I looked at you and said that I'm forever yours You looked at me and said oh the idea of being in love The idea. the idea. of being forever yours. yeah.
You wont be leaving my arms ever. I promise you that Even if you want me to let go honey Even if you want me to let go You wont be leaving my arms ever. I promise you that Even if you want me to let go honey Even if you say the things that make me want to lose you
Screaming from the inside of me, lonely and pleading phantasm We only get what we see; gazing so desperately Between the things that we fear; gazing so desperately In love with illusions; were watching segregating illusions Between the things that we see and the things that we fear No. No. It won’t make then disappear. --- You wont be leaving my arms ever. I promise you that Even if you want me to let go honey Even if you want me to let go you won’t be leaving my arms ever. I promise you that Even if you want me to let go honey Even if you say the things that make me want to lose you
Even if you want me to let go honey...”
With the last few words her voice broke off to a mere whisper, and her lids lift up. After a long, awkward pause she looked over at the boy and frowned. His hair had been over his eyes the entire time, and she was beginning to wonder if he was blind. Because if he were, it wouldn’t matter if his hair was in front of his eyes. But it did seem there were quite a few people who styled their hair like that. Perhaps he was one of them.
She reached over her hand to his forehead, brushing the hair to one side, “There that looks bet---ter.” Her hand dropped slightly from his forehead and she let it trace the side of his face. Her eyes were caught gazing deep with in the bright red of his. He was so beautiful. But what was that in his eyes? Were they contacts? “That’s neat.” She said, quickly bringing her hand towards her, for she hadn’t realized she was semi-ly stroking him. She closed her eyes. He probably thought she was a freak. Though it didn’t matter.
“I should go home.” She thought out loud, coming to a stand, “It’s dark.” Which, it clearly was outside. Nobody needed a genius like her to point that out.
