Billy sat at a picnic table. The furthest one from the cook house. He didn't like to sit in closer, where all the other kids were--yelling and screaming for the stupidest reasons. He didn't understand why kids had to be so gosh darn annoying. It was ridiculous really, how parents coddled their children. When he was little he always did everything for himself. But no no, there were kids who said to their parents, 'Mommy, I don't want to speak to the lady.' And the parent would respond by simply saying, 'Well alright. I'll order your food for you then.' How were kids supposed to learn ANYthing if they didn't do anything. Making mistakes and taking chances was all apart of life. Play in the dirt. Have fun. Make messes!
He looked down at the table. There were three red apples in front of him. He'd grabbed them earlier before anyone had come in to eat breakfast. The good apples were always taken if you came in late. It was the sad nature of life. First come, first serve.
He looked around at the mayhem before him. Kids screaming. Screaming. Being stupid. Gross. It was disgusting. Cobi over there was picking his nose. Oh..and now...he..was..wiping it on the shirt of the boy next to him. Oh, and Nancy was jumping up and down, apparently the giggling boys two benches down from her had slipped a frog down the back of her shirt. And, apparently..Nancy didn't like frogs.
His eyes looked up to where the cook house was. The cooks seemed to be having fun. Well..some of them. One girl in there had egg dripping down her face. Slimey, yellow and clear egg goop. Great fun that. But, the guy who threw it at her, well...he was being slapped across the head. Not too fun for him there now.
He smiled. He could so easily start a food fight. It would be so simple. He could just pick up somebodies food and throw it. Nobody would see him do it. Nobody would see, because he was invisable. No, not just ignored and not cared about but really, physically invisible.
He picked up one of the apples, turning it invisible as he did so. He took a bit, debating whether or not he should start a food fight.

Camps; What a glorious place; So many young minds; So much mischievousness; Everywhere Sai turned, minds were whirling, bouncing off the walls. It was AMAZING. And to think, the professors back at the academy didn’t want them mingling with normal people. Please. These people seemed more messed up than they themselves were. Heck, there was a girl he’d run into the other day who seemed to be living in a soap opera. Still, he was glad that they were allowed this little trip. Imagine. Him! A counsellor! Guiding young minds and helping them during those tough childhood times. Ah yes. This summer was going to be amazing! Sure, perhaps making a blind kid a counsellor wasn’t the best idea, but Isaiah did have a certain advantage against the twisted minds of the children. For one, he could see their little pranks and jokes coming before they ever reached him; Or Kariee. And he wasn’t completely blind. Not with Kariee around. Though this morning, he was without his eyes. Kariee was off doing...something. Who knew really? Well, Isaiah would...if he’d seen into her mind, but she’d already gone off before he’d even awoken; And left poor Sai to find his way to the mess hall all alone. Not that it was too difficult. At least he had his stick. Oh the trusted stick. Which in all truth, he really didn’t need any more. Sai had learned quite well how to feel minds around him and in doing so, avoid contact. Inanimate objects, however, were still an obstacle to defeat. Stick was good for that. Stick made sure his feet didn’t trip over such silly things. The mess hall turned out to be quite easy to find. Especially since Isaiah had found himself walking behind a pair of young girls who were heading towards that building. Or so their minds said anyway. They were deciding on what to eat; and who to sit by; and whether or not Jamie would notice the other this morning. That was followed with a few choice harsh words about the other, which of course, were never voiced; Silly girls. Always so mean to each other. He’d have to talk to them later. Or get Kariee to; since she too was a girl.
Upon entering the dining room, Isaiah was assaulted with both voiced yells and loud thoughts. He quickly honed in on those around him, giving a smile in any old general direction to look as if he were somewhat normal; walking around with a white stick in front of him. A few of the children stared at him, or so he was given the impression by their whispers which he heard quite clearly.
“Good morning Samantha,” he said cheerfully,” passing one girl who seemed to jump at her name. Then came the jumble of confused thoughts on how a random blind albino guy knew her name. Duh, he was a counsellor. Who’d been there for a day or so; and knew every child’s name upon glance. Or so it seemed. Having powers was so much fun. Isaiah couldn’t wait for story time around the fire. Yes, that would be fun. He’d been perfecting a few illusions just for this occasion; of course nothing too scary. Heh heh. Not that Kariee would let him do that; Much.
Invisible. Food fight
Wait. What?
Isaiah’s head snapped to the left, his walking abruptly stopping. A few of the kids increased their whispers and panicked thoughts of the crazy counsellor. Sai, of course, paid them no mind as he manoeuvred himself carefully over to the table after only slightly tripping over a sandwich. At least, he thought it was a sandwich. He sat himself down beside a young boy, resting his cane on his lap as he did so. He would get breakfast later; maybe; if he remembered.
“Now, Billy,” he began, turning towards the boy. “Don’t you go doubting yourself. I myself happen to think that your plan is ingenious. I’ve been wanting to cause some ruckus for a while. Though, don’t tell anyone. I mean I’m supposed to be a counsellor and guide you in the right direction and whatnot. Which I completely am. My views just happen to be slightly different to that of the people that hired me. Food fights are very healthy for kids. It gives them exercise and aim; both very logical reasons to begin one. So I think, some pudding is in store; or some of that yoghurt. Or we could just throw one of your apples into someone’s cereal. We’d need good aim though; which I clearly don’t have. So you’ll have to throw."

“Good morning Samantha.” That was it. Those three words had been spoken by one of the teenage counsellors. After that, the ‘counsellor’ had sat down with him, resting his weird stick in his lap. What was the stick for anyways? That didn’t really matter right now. What mattered was that this guy had seemed to look right in his direction, and sat at the table, practically right beside him.
But it got better. Oh yes, he began talking. To any other passer-by it would look like he was talking to himself. But he most certainly was not. No no nononono, this guy was talking to him
“Now, Billy,” he began, turning towards him “Don’t you go doubting yourself. I myself happen to think that your plan is ingenious. I’ve been wanting to cause some ruckus for a while. Though, don’t tell anyone. I mean I’m supposed to be a counsellor and guide you in the right direction and whatnot. Which I completely am. So I think, some pudding is in store; or some of that yoghurt. Or we could just throw one of your apples into someone’s cereal. We’d need good aim though; which I clearly don’t have. So you’ll have to throw."
Billy stared in horror at the guy, his jaw actually dropped and his eyes bugged out. Was this guy just crazy and coincidentally happened to sit next to him and begin talking to an imaginary friend whose name was Billy and was thinking about food fights. It could happen..but it wasn’t likely.
Billy frowned, setting down his apple, “C-can ye see me?” he inquired, still invisible, looking around to see if there was anyone close by he might’ve been talking to. “And..how did ye know my name? Ah’ve never seen ye before?” his voice dropped, suspicion rising in his voice, “And what’s this about a food fight?” This guy might just be crazy. He’d heard a lot about this fella. He was was the weird blind guy with white hair. That’s what all the kids said anyways. But..if this guy was blind...why could he see him? Unless he had some weird super-seeing gift..that..could only see the unseen. No..that’s not right.

“Now, Billy, don’t you go doubting yourself.” Billy. Billy Billy Billy Billy. Right. So apparently there was a Billy. Uh huh. All she saw was an extremely blonde headed guy, waving his arms around excitably, talking about food fights. He would turn his head occasionally and keep talking as if someone were actually there! There was no one there though. No one. AT ALL! What was this guy doing? And he had a stick..in his...lap. Oh..was he that blind guy? Why would they hire some blind guy to help kids. It seemed like he needed a lot more help.
Polly walked over to the bench where the blind guy sat. She’d heard some people talking about him in the cabins. His name was Isaiah. She stood beside him, touching his arm. A little blob of swirled blue, green and white paint remained on his arm when she took her hand away. Oh..oh no. She thought, her mouth making an ‘O’ shape. Maybe..he..wouldn’t notice.
“Hey..who’re you talking to?” she asked, looking around at the empty table. All that was there were two apples and a blind boy jittering away about throwing apple sin cereal. “Cause, I don’t mean to burst your bubble or nothing, but..there’s nobody here. Unless you’re just talking to yourself...cause I mean lots of people do that..I’ve been caught doing that before.” She half smiled, not really sure what else to say.

Kids are funny. Their minds are like little presents. They’re so much fun to open and the gift inside is always amazing! Their conclusions are always great too. Like little Billy. Isaiah was sure he would pee his pants just from laughter. That last thing he said...er thought. It was just, oh boy.
“Weird super-seeing gift..that..could only see the unseen,” he managed to choke out between laughs. “No, no that’s not right. You’re right there. Oh boy. Kid, you’re seriously killing me!” He said going into another fit of laughter. The kids thought up with these days. Oh deary lord. What a silly boy. It was like just because he was blind he was expected to not know that there were people around him.
“Of course I know you’re there silly. I can-” Sai stopped himself there, realizing what a grave mistake he’d been a bout to say. He was going to say ‘read your mind’, but that would be bad. “I know you’re there because...I...can....feel...your presence....and...stuff. Yeah that’s it,” he said with an uncomfortable laughter. His laugher was caught short when he felt something touch him. At first it felt like a hand, and he figured it was Kariee, but he soon realized it couldn’t be Kariee for these thoughts were not of his beloved sister. And the hand on his arm...no longer felt like a hand. It felt wet. And cold.
What on Earth was touching him!
Isaiah jumped from his seat which of course caused him to fall backwards, over the bench, and onto the floor. He was so confused. And very much frightened. He could feel himself panicking. Where was Kariee? He would know then who or what this person was and...oh wait. He could...read minds. Hahaha...
Isaiah cleared his throat and slowly brought himself back to a sitting position, his mind already probing that of the girls. Her name was Polly. And she...leaked paint? Wait. She had a gift. She was gifted! That made sense. Wait! A gifted! He’d actually found one! Professor Casper would be so proud off him!
“Hey..who’re you talking to?” There’s no one at the table but this guy and two apples.
Isaiah sat in silence for a moment going over what had come from both her mouth and mind. She...couldn’t see Billy? He was sitting right next to him!
“Cause, I don’t mean to burst your bubble or nothing, but..there’s nobody here. Unless you’re just talking to yourself...cause I mean lots of people do that..I’ve been caught doing that before,” Polly said to him.
“What? You...can’t see billy?” What was going on. How could she not...oh wait. Invisible. He immediately began searching through Billy’s thoughts and nearly smacked himself for being so stupid. Billy could turn invisible. Oh God. That was why...he was so confused. Huh. That...actually made complete sense. Wait. That meant...he’d found two gifteds! In one day! He couldn’t wait to tell Kariee! But...he couldn’t talk to these two about the academy. Not in front of all these people. They’d need to have a super secret meeting of sorts.
“Polly, listen to me. Actually take a seat first,” he said motioning to the bench. “We’re going to have to talk quietly. Because if anyone else learns about us, things would be bad. And I’ll never be allowed to leave the academy again,” he said as afterthought. That would suck. He liked meeting other people. “See Billy,” he said motioning to his left where the invisible Billy sat, “Is invisible,” he said quietly leaning in towards her.

“Weird super-seeing gift..that..could only see the unseen,” Isaiah managed to choke out between laughs. “No, no that’s not right. You’re right there. Oh boy. Kid, you’re seriously killing me!” He said going into another fit of laughter. Billy just stared at the poor fool blankly, his lips parting.
“Of course I know you’re there silly. I can-” he cut off abruptly. Billy shook his head at the boy. He was completely flabbergasted. What was this all about?! How had he known what he was thinking? Could this guy read minds? How else would he know he was there? How else would he know everyone’s names? Gosh, why hadn’t he seen it before? “I know you’re there because...I...can....feel...your presence....and...stuff. Yeah that’s it,” he said with an uncomfortable laughter. Billy sighed, right right. Of course.
Billy rolled his eyes, putting his hands on the table and laying his head on top of them. This guy is just like a little kid. He just has a deeper voice and is waaaayyy taller. Ah wonder if he’s switched bodies with someone...or..something.
“Hey..who’re you talking to?”
Billy’s head shot up at the sound of a females voice. It sounded so familiar. He looked up to see a light haired girl with blue eyes and an odd rainbow on her eyelid and temple. He smiled gleefully. It was Polly! His dear sister! What was she doing here? He wanted so bad to turn visible so he could run up to her and hug her. But turning visible suddenly was NOT a good idea.
“Cause, I don’t mean to burst your bubble or nothing, but..there’s nobody here. Unless you’re just talking to yourself...cause I mean lots of people do that..I’ve been caught doing that before,” Polly said to him. Billy was so happy-- Which was a big thing, because he’s never happy. His cheeks already hurt from smiling!
“What? You...can’t see Billy?” Billy hit himself in the head. Durrrrrrrrh. Stupid. It only took ye five minutes. Well now, Polly was in for something now, wasn’t she?
“Polly, listen to me. Actually take a seat first,” Isaiah said motioning to the bench and Polly sat down in it. “We’re going to have to talk quietly. Because if anyone else learns about us, things would be bad. And I’ll never be allowed to leave the academy again,” Isaiah said. “See Billy,” he said motioning to his left where the invisible Billy sat, “Is invisible,” he said quietly leaning in towards her.
Billy, covering his mouth, forced down a loud laugh that would have come out. He squirmed in his seat, trying to hold it in. He had to stay focused. Polly couldn’t find out about him..yet. And he had to keep his cover. Isaiah was right, if anyone found out about the what he and Isaiah had...it would be bad. Oh so very bad indeed.

“What? You...can’t see Billy?” Polly shook her head, “Uh..no..I can’t.” she crossed her arms and looked at the two apples then back at Isaiah.
“Polly, listen to me. Actually take a seat first,” Isaiah said motioning to the bench. She sighed. Was he serious? What was he getting into. No..wait. What had she gotten herself into. She shouldn’t have even bothered to talk to the boy. She should’ve just left him alone with his craziness.
“We’re going to have to talk quietly. Because if anyone else learns about us, things would be bad. And I’ll never be allowed to leave the academy again,” Isaiah said. Academy? What on Earth- Was this an Academy for the insane? Like a mentally insane institute?
“See Billy,” he said motioning to his left where the nonexistent ‘Billy’ sat, “Is invisible,” he said quietly leaning in towards her.
She chuckled, covering her mouth. He really did sound like some cracked up rarity. After her small laughing fit she looked at him seriously. For a blind guy though, he gave off a pretty good impression..as a not so blind-guy.
“Alright...” she started, setting her hands on the table, “So Billy is invisible? Why is he invisible? And..wait-what’s all this talk about the academy, cause I’m incredibly confused about this?” she had many more questions she wished to ask, but this would do for now. She didn’t want to overwhelm him.[/sup]

This guy is just like a little kid. He just has a deeper voice and is waaaayyy taller. Ah wonder if he’s switched bodies with someone...or..something.
Switched...bodies? What on earth was this Billy talking about? Oh boy, I guess, in a way...yes definitely. Poor Billy was lost. Oh dear. He always doing things like that; confusing innocent bystanders. At least he knew Billy was a gifted as well. Isaiah knew how horrible it would be if he slipped up in front of a regular ol’ human; not that he hadn’t done that before. Oh no. He and Kariee, well, they’d gotten themselves into a couple mishaps. For example, the whole walking around while giving a piggy back was...quite strange to most folks; especially when authority asked them to stop their "shinanigans". The pair of course, always had to explain that it was for medical reasons. That Kariee could not walk, so on and so forth. That was when Isaiah’s illusions would come in handy and Kariee’s legs would actually appear to look useless. This explanation was conceived by one of the professors after their first run in with a police officer. At the time both Kariee and Isaiah had no idea how to handle the situation and so, blurted the first thing that came to mind. Which was a simple answer of:
"Well you see sir, my friend here, the blind albino, can’t see. So, I see for him. But if I’m walking beside him, he’d see everything wonky. So I ride on his back so everything looks right. Except it’s a little higher up then he would see if he weren’t blind, but we’ve managed to deal with it, right Sai," Kariee had said patting his head.
Isaiah could only nod in response. This earned them a grounding. No going outside the academy until they had a believable "human possible" story.
Back to the issue at hand; Billy thought Isaiah was insane. Polly thought he was insane. She thought he was a crack head. He was not insane. And he was most certainly not a crack head. He just simply could not blurt out that he could read minds and therefore was able to know that Billy was sitting where he was. They probably wouldn’t believe him anyway. Oh dear; though Polly seemed to be catching on with her, not-so-blind guy comment.
“Alright...” Began Polly, “So Billy is invisible? Why is he invisible? And...Wait-what’s all this talk about the academy, cause I’m incredibly confused about this?”
Isaiah found his thoughts racing between two very confused minds. Man was there some drama going on here. There was a family reunion about to happen, and he was bringing them together! Kinda. Oh boy this was so exciting! He felt like…one of those talk show hosts that brought such happiness to people. Like Maury or Dr Phil!
“Ok, ok, ok,” Isaiah began excitedly. “Billy is invisible, yes. The academy is filled with gifteds, people with powers, and, and. Oh boy. You two are also gifteds; right? No? Don’t believe me? Oh come ooon. Stop being so negative; don’t you have an imagination? I know you do Polly. With all the wonderful paintings you’ve made. Oh there we go; light bulb!” At this point Isaiah was finding it difficult to keep his voice at a hushed whisper. “Polly. You have paint running through your veins…Billy can as said turn invisible. I know this because I can read minds; if you hadn’t already figured that out. And don’t worry Polly, ask away. Heck I already know your questions but I figure it may be a little creepy if I just start blurting out answers,” he said with a wide grin.
Isaiah sat biting his lip gleefully his fingers drumming on the tabletop.
“Ok, I’m sorry Billy,” he said apologetically turning towards the boy, “I’m no good at keeping secrets, Polly,” he said turning back to the girl, “Billy’syourlonglostbrotherandnowyourfinallyreunitedsorryBilly!” he said turning back to Billy at the end.
“But we really should go. Now,” he said glancing around the mess hall. “No one’s noticed anything odd yet…so I’ll just say that I, being a counselor, need you Polly to help me…do counsely…stuff; onwards!” He cried standing up, holding his walking stick straight into the air and carefully stepping over the bench.
“Come now Polly. Let us begin our counselor…things which we must do. You come too Billy,” he muttered under his breath. The kids in the tent gave the pair an odd look and a few choice thoughts and whispers before turning back to their food and ignoring the whole thing; excellent.

Oh come ooon. Stop being so negative; don’t you have an imagination? I know you do Polly. With all the wonderful paintings you’ve made. Oh there we go; light bulb!”
Billy sighed and whacked himself in the forehead, so hard it could be heard from Isaiah and Polly, if they were listening that is. This guy was going to ruin everything. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAAAAAH!!!! Does he EVER stop talking. Geeeeeezzzz. He crossed his arms and frowned up at Isaiah. Then giggled, because he couldn't see it.
“Polly. You have paint running through your veins…Billy can as said turn invisible. I know this because I can read minds; if you hadn’t already figured that out. And don’t worry Polly, ask away. “Ok, I’m sorry Billy,” he said apologetically turning towards the boy, “I’m no good at keeping secrets, Polly,” he said turning back to the girl.
AHHHHHH! He pulled on his hair, frustrated.
“Billy’syourlonglostbrotherandnowyourfinallyreunitedsorryBilly!” he said turning back to Billy at the end.
With that said Billy huffed, standing up from the table, stuffing his apples in his pockets he grabbed onto Isaiah's and Polly's wrists.
"Enough of this!" he said to them, "You," he pointed at Polly, "And YOU," his invisable self pointed an angry finger at Isaiah, "Are coming with me, this way." he said, dragging them out of the tent and around the corner.
Once they were away he turned visible again, "Isaiah, what are you thinking. No..you weren't thinking." he plopped down on the ground, "People can't know about us! don't you know that! People hate us! They don't understand and..they think we're crazy. Trust me, that's the reason I live here now! I let people know!"
He stopped talking just then as he realised that Polly was still there. His face lit up in a smile, one that was rarely ever there - A child's smile. He held out his arms and clung to Polly, resting his head on her stomach.
"I've missed you all so much!" he said, "Is anybody else here? I've been keeping a low profile, since they let me go. How did you guys get out?" He asked looking up at her, then to Isaiah.
